Privacy policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
This policy explains what data 4Otakus (4otakus.com) collects and why. We do not have user accounts, comments or newsletters, and we never sell personal data.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people find us. GA4 sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and collects data like pages viewed, approximate location (country/city, derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type, and referring site. Google processes this data under its privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Cookies
The site itself needs no cookies to work. Cookies are set only by the third-party services described here (analytics and, in future, advertising). You can delete or block them in your browser settings at any time.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google AdSense in the future. If we do, third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. This section will be updated when ads go live.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete them when no longer needed.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, URL) for security and reliability.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Japan's APPI) you may have the right to access, correct or delete data about you. Since we hold almost none directly, most requests are best made to Google; for anything else, email contact@4otakus.com.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
