Watch Season 1 → Mugen Train → Entertainment District → Swordsmith Village → Hashira Training → Infinity Castle (Part 1). That's 63 TV episodes plus two films, a weekend-and-a-bit commitment compared with One Piece or Naruto. In 2026, the Infinity Castle film streams on Crunchyroll (since July 28), and US viewers can also find the series on Netflix and Hulu. Infinity Castle Part 2 has no release date; it won't come out in 2026.

Mugen Train: film or TV version?

They tell the same story. The TV version (7 episodes) adds an original first episode about Rengoku before the train, then re-cuts the film into episodes. Our pick (opinion): watch the film. It was made to be seen in one sitting, and the score lands harder that way. Watch TV episode 1 separately if you want the extra Rengoku material.

What about the "To the Swordsmith Village" and "To the Hashira Training" theatrical releases?

These were limited cinema events that bundled the end of one arc with the first episode of the next. They don't add new story beyond the TV episodes, so skip them in a home watch.

  • International release: from August 2025 (North America: September 12, 2025).
  • Streaming: Crunchyroll from July 28, 2026; Japanese Blu-ray/DVD on July 29, 2026.

When does Infinity Castle Part 2 come out?

No official date. What we know as of November 1, 2026:

  • In February 2026, ufotable's promotional reel listed Part 2 under future projects, confirming it won't release in 2026.
  • A Crunchyroll/Sony report includes a placeholder date in September 2027, but nobody has confirmed it as Part 2's date. Treat it as a placeholder, not an announcement.
  • Demon Slayer will appear on the Jump Super Stage Red at Jump Festa 2027 on December 19, 2026, with a worldwide livestream. A first visual, teaser or date is possible, but not guaranteed.
  • Part 3 is widely expected even later; nothing official exists.

Our opinion: a 2027 release is the realistic best case. ufotable takes its time, and the results justify it. Mark December 19 on your calendar.

How long does it take to watch Demon Slayer?

Part Approx. time
63 TV episodes (about 24 min each, some longer finales) ~25 hours
Mugen Train film Under 2 hours
Infinity Castle (Part 1) Feature length, longer than Mugen Train
Total About 30 hours

Two episodes a night gets you from Season 1 episode 1 to the end of Infinity Castle in about a month. If you use the Mugen Train TV version instead of the film, add roughly an hour.

Can you skip anything?

Not really, and that's one of the series' strengths: there's no filler. A few notes:

  • Season 1, episodes 1–5 are slower set-up. Push through; the series finds its rhythm by the Final Selection.
  • Hashira Training Arc (8 episodes) is the quietest season, mostly training and character work. It matters for Infinity Castle, so don't skip it.
  • Recap specials that aired on Japanese TV before new seasons are safe to skip.

Spoiler-free: is Demon Slayer worth starting in 2026?

Yes. It's short, finished as a manga, and visually one of the best TV anime ever made. The only downside is the wait for the last two films, which is a good reason to start now: you'll be caught up long before Part 2.

If you want something airing weekly while you wait, our Fall 2026 anime season guide has the current picks.
